ABOUT US

In the heart of Toronto’s vibrant Junction, THE FRENCH KITCHEN is an intimate, heart-driven French dining experience built around great food, thoughtful hospitality and the simple pleasure of gathering around a table. Led by Master Chef Didier Leroy, our multi-course dining experience is $148 per person, bringing together classic French technique, beautiful ingredients and a menu that changes with the seasons.

Guests can enjoy our carefully selected French wines and beer, explore our wine tasting experience, or choose from a selection of thoughtful alcohol-free options.

We are open Wednesday through Saturday, with two seatings each evening:

First Service: 6:00–6:15 PM

Second Service: 8:15–8:30 PM

The experience is approximately two hours. If you love to linger over wine and conversation, we recommend joining us for our second seating, where the evening can unfold at a more leisurely pace. We are happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions and food aversions when we are given advance notice. Please let us know when making your reservation so our kitchen can prepare accordingly.

Above all, we want THE FRENCH KITCHEN to feel personal. With only a handful of tables, our goal is simple: cook with care, welcome generously, and create an evening that feels a little like being invited into our home.

Bienvenue à notre table.

For more than 55 years, Chef Didier Leroy has devoted his life to cooking, including the past 38 years here in Toronto.

His journey began in France, grounded in the traditions and discipline of classic French cuisine. Those foundations have stayed with him throughout his career: a deep respect for ingredients, an uncompromising belief in the integrity of flavour, and a passion for preparing the French classics properly.

But Didier’s career has never been only about what is on the plate.

Over nearly four decades in Toronto, he has built relationships, friendships and community around his cooking. For Didier, the connection with a guest begins before they ever taste the food. It starts with how they are welcomed, how they are cared for, and how they feel around the table.

Today, The French Kitchen represents the culmination of that 55-year journey. It is an intimate expression of the food he loves, the lessons he has learned and the kind of hospitality he has spent a lifetime practicing.

At this stage of his career, Didier is not interested in chasing trends. He continues to cook what he believes in: honest French food, rooted in tradition, prepared with generosity and integrity.

His greatest pleasure remains remarkably simple: bringing people together, building community, and connecting with people’s hearts before their palates.
